Casting Picture Tips : Put Your Best Face Forward

As we grow and add hundreds of new members per day many of you will hear the same tips from me regarding your default realitywanted photo.  When you hit APPLY NOW to any of the casting calls your default pic is sent to the casting director via email along with some contact information and a link back to your other photos.

One of the number one complaints I hear from casting directors centers around applicant photos.  If you have an upgraded account on realitywanted you can add 5 - 10 photos. If you have a free account you can add only one.  Whether you have a free or upgraded account make sure you choose the best default photo for your profile.

The Commercials Are Coming The Commercials Are Coming!

Hey gang, as promised more fun stuff is on its way to RealityWanted.com!   We just spoke with some friends in the business who will start posting casting calls for TV commercials!  Actually we already have a commercial casting call currently posted. I will have some additional information later this week and even some pics from their studio.  I will be heading out to Los Angeles next month to meet with them and get some additional info.

As you all know its our mission to change the faceless online casting world so we personally meet and great as many of the casting pro’s who use our site as possible.  Ill try not to preach again about all the faceless/nameless casting sites run oversees or out of grandmas garage and how many sites simply copy and paste content they find throughout the web without any pre screening or on site visits.

As a matter of fact Jason (co founder) just left CBS after spending an hour with the top casting executives for The Amazing Race and Survivor.

Today’s Rant - Dont Get Taken Advantage Of By Casting Scams

I am going to go to the gym now and blow off some steam. I had a member send me a message about a site that contacted her asking her for several hundred dollars to help her get on a reality show.  That is insane, you do not need an agent to get on Reality TV.  I was once a reality TV applicant and navigated the world of online casting, it is a world riddled with scammers, swindlers, and liars and it sickens me to think someone can sit and hide behind a computer and prey upon others dreams for financial gain.

I spoke with another very well know Reality TV Casting Director today and he had the same suggestion I have heard countless times. Make sure your default RealityWanted.com photo is a RECENT and CLEAR face shot.  When you hit APPLY NOW  to any casting call that pic is sent along with a link to your others but remember the old saying about first impressions.  Also, dont use a photo form 5 years ago or when your hair was red and now its black.  Just a quick tip for you all today….good luck and have a great weekend!

I may see Indianan Jones tonight, heard it was so so….or rent something….any ideas? :)

Hey guys, if you start getting any spam messages, solicited for acting classes, or other non reality casting related deals please email us. Also, check your PRIVACY settings if you wan to block certain people. Just like any email or message system spammers will sneak in and mess around. We are adding new privacy and spam filtering systems to the site and wanted to let you know we are aware of the issue and closely monitoring it.
